Facing Fear: Friendship ‘n’ Faith On Campus |
 |
Friday 17th October 2008, 10 am to 3.30 pm
Facing Fear: Friendship ‘n’ Faith On Campus is a workshop for inter faith workers, Christian, Muslim and Jewish chaplains, vicars, rabbis, imams or preachers who want to explore together issues associated with inter faith tensions on campus. The different positions will be explored and examined by the participants, who will discuss the tensions. In particular, the conference will focus on mutual learning in the fields of:
- Facilitating Inter Faith Dialogue On Campus
- Managing Inter Faith Tensions
- Building lasting friendships between faiths on campus
Each field will be examined by professional facilitators with delegates questioning, discussing and learning from each religious tradition.
Facing Fear: Friendship and Faith On Campus will take place at Meeting House, University of Sussex Chaplaincy, Brighton. The venue is congenial for dialogue sessions and is experienced in preparing vegetarian finger buffets for Christian, Muslim and Jewish participants.
The cost of the workshop attendance will be £35 per person. This covers the cost of hiring the venue, facilitator’s fees and travel expenses, the Project Manager’s time, catering and resources which are given out on the day.
Numbers attending the workshop will be between 30–40. The day is particularly for people working on the south coast, but people from further afield are also welcome.
