CCJ is deeply saddened to hear of the attack on Christian communities in Egypt on Palm Sunday. An attack on people who are worshipping can never be justified and the targeting of Christians on Palm Sunday is particularly distressing.
We offer at this time our deepest condolences to HG Bishop Angaelos as well as all of the Coptic Orthodox Churches in the UK, Egypt and around the world. We stand in solidarity with all those affected by these attacks and our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families and friends.
As this week sees Christian communities honouring Holy Week and Jewish communities celebrating Pesach, we bring our voices together to pray for an end to all such acts of violence and for a world in which everyone is able to pray and live in security and peace.
