CCJ would like to congratulate our members, friends and partners who have received honours in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list.

CCJ Vice President Dr Lionel Kopelowitz and CCJ Trustees Wendy Fidler and David Arnold, have each been awarded MBE for services to interfaith relations.

Wendy Fidler MBE told the Oxford Mail, “I feel extremely privileged and very honoured. It’s not just personal, but it reflects the work and importance of the work done by the CCJ. We came back from holiday and found a letter and I couldn’t think what it could be for. I have been more involved in interfaith since I retired 15 years ago, but I cannot remember a time when I was not interested in interfaith relations. I got involved because I felt there was an increase in anti-Semitism over the past few years all over this county and in Europe and I thought I don’t want to just stand by and do nothing.”  The full article can be found here.

David Arnold’s honour was reported in the Manchester Evening News which can be found here. David Arnold MBE told the Bury Times, “It was something of a surprise. In many respects, this award is not so much a personal commendation, but a commendation of a body of work that I and a large group of people have been committed to over many years. It is testament to their hard work.” The full article can be found here.

David Arnold MBE was also interviewed on Salford City Radio on 22nd June 2015:

HG Bishop Angaelos has been awarded OBE for services to international religious freedom. A statement from His Grace can be viewed here.

CCJ wishes to convey our heartfelt congratulations for these well-deserved honours.
