Side by Side

Side by Side aims to proactively engage the United Kingdom's University Chaplaincies in a programme of inter-faith learning, encounter and facilitation.

Why is CCJ working with University Chaplaincies?

We are concerned about the increase of antisemitism and xenophobia on university campuses. CCJ's almost 70 years of knowledge and expertise dealing with the realities of multi-faith and multi-cultural student bodies, assists and enables HE/FE chaplains in their work with students.

What is CCJ doing to realise the Side by Side project?

The project delivers one regional workshop for HE/FE Chaplains each term, often involving the local CCJ group. It also plans an annual national conference on Multi-Faith chaplaincy. We also produce a quarterly e-zine for all Higher Education and Further Education Chaplains: dialogueMatters.

Who does CCJ work with on the Side by Side project?

CCJ works with university chaplaincies primarily, but we also work with The Church of England Higher Education Department, St Ethelburga's Center for Peace and Reconciliation, and The Three Faiths Forum.
