Encounters

CCJ's Encounters project is aimed at Christian ordinands and ministerial students, and Jewish rabbinical students. CCJ recognises that Christians and Jews training to become leaders of their respective communities may have had little or no exposure to the experiences and thinking of the 'other'.

What will happen on an Encounters project?

The project aims to deliver a series of cutting edge, tailor-made day workshops at UK theological colleges for Christian and Jewish participants throughout the year. Additionally, the project seeks to co-ordinate visits between ordinands and Jewish families.

What does Encounters aim to achieve?

Encounters is specially designed for clergy in training; it provides an opportunity for personal interfaith learning, skills acquisition and dialogue through shared text study and discussion.

Will there be any resources produced to accompany Encounters?

CCJ aims to deliver a twice-yearly Encounters Paper on Jewish-Christian relations for ordinands and rabbinical students. CCJ will also make available a Future Ministry in Interfaith Communities pack for each workshop participant.
