“75 years ago today, the decision was taken to found the Council of Christians and Jews, ahead of its public formation on 1st October 1942. At the darkest time in European history, Christians and Jews came together to build friendship, trust and common purpose. In a world where antisemitism, hatred and division show no signs of lessening, we remain committed to supporting a better way through dialogue, education and social action. Our two faiths have so much to offer together to our society, and we look forward to working with our partners this year as we commemorate our 75th anniversary in October and into the future.”

Rt Revd Dr Michael Ipgrave OBE, Bishop of Lichfield and Chair of CCJ
